Ross McCully
Ross McCully was born in 1983 and grew up in Helensburgh on the West Coast of Scotland. After studying Illustration at The Glasgow School of Art in the early 2000’s, he has worked within the design industry in various roles ever since and currently works at a design agency in Glasgow.
Ross first visited Iceland in 2017 and fell in love with the island. Spending time amongst the natural wonders with his wife and young son left a lasting impression, and in 2019 he found the inspiration he needed to pick up painting again.
His work focuses on where land meets water; evoking the energy and emotions of particular moments or memories; whether it be in the dynamic skies or in the texture of Iceland’s unique landscape.
Ross's first solo show for the gallery in May 2023 - a collection of eight stunning textured acrylics created for musician Adam Nutter's 'Badland on Fire' album - was a sellout and Ross continues to go from strength to strength with his latest work. Catch it whilst you can!
